To Do 2013


The List for 2013 – it’s very ambitious yet again, but that way I hope to have more chance of completing some, and many are the same as on previous lists, but then some seem easier/cheaper etc to complete, and I still want to do them, so they stay on the list J


1.    Take many more long (dog) hikes when in Suffolk

2.    Make cute pj bottoms
3.    Teach the dog to come back! (near-on impossible)
4.    Decorate the hall and landings
5.    Buy a giant map canvas for wall & add pins showing all places visited
6.    Make some lino-print cards
7.    Paint a canvas
8.    Paint the ensuite shower room
9.    Buy a silkscreen and print my own fabric
10.  Point up the house where needed with lime mortar (eek!)
11.  Get custom-made bookshelves built
12.  Go to a Christmas market (yes, I have some time to wait J )
13.  Give away those clothes I haven’t worn in over a year & am unlikely to
14.  Carve a pumpkin for Halloween
15.  Go late night shopping
16.  Make personalised fortune cookies (felt or real)
17.  Buy new shoes (believe it not this is actually a big thing for me as I find it really hard to find ones I love that fit)
18.  Get television mounted to wall so room can finally be organised
19.  Get inherited armchair re-covered
20.  Get digital photos printed & albumed
21.  Make scrapbooks
22.  Organise family slides
23.  Climb a mountain
24.  Go bowling – will be using vouchers from friend :)
25.  Buy a telescope, then stay up all night staring stargazing - Birthday pressie 2013
26.  Take a train journey on a steam engine Paignton to Dartmouth steam train, March 2013
27.  Have a 50’s style cocktail party
28.  Go to more antique/collectors fairs
29.  Go on the boating lake
30.  Make a proper handbag
31.  Put up photos around house (wherever Hubby will allow J)
32.  Go to Renegade London – finally!
33.  Hold a vintage tea-party in aid of cancer charity
34.  Brush up on my school-girl French - started by using the vintage “teach yourself French” records found
35.  Send a message in a tiny bottle
36.  Build a sandcastle
37.  Plant a tree
38.  Hold a pyjama party for my girlfriends
39.  Get an etsy shop up and running
40.  Make an autumnal skirt
41.  Learn to crochet
42.  Go on a course
43.  Take part in a craft fair
44.  Go to a silent disco
45.  Organise the office
46.  Progress with learning Japanese
47.  Research the family tree
48.  Go roller skating (still trying to find skates!)
49.  Make a terrarium
50.  Complete diy projects round house

And then there's those I class as continuing ‘self-improvement’:
See more of Great Britain
Once a month, cook something new
Spend more quality time with parents
Leave 10 anonymous, positive messages
Learn to say no and not feel guilty!
Don’t beat self up when can’t do everything!
Continuing to discover new bands
Have more mother/daughter days
Have proper date nights (concerts, trips, dinner, etc) at least once a month

2012's list and what was managed...
 
Ok, so once again, not many accomplished, but I’ve spent lots of lovely breaks in Suffolk with Hubby & Dusty, and time just seems to fly by.

1.  Climb a mountain
2.  Have more mother/daughter days - Managed a few whilst Mum in country!  To be continued..
3.  Organise family slides
4.  Go bowling - Received bowling vouchers from friend for Christmas J
5.  Have a 50’s style cocktail party
6.  Discover new bands
      January - Emmy the Great

      August – MANY (see Summer Sundae posts) inc. Dan Mangan, Twilight Sad, etc
      December - Elizabeth and the Catapult (thanks to Anne Hathaway for this one)
7.  Teach the dog to stay, heel, leave… J - Got the stay, wait, leave it (for the most part), just need the heel & come back! Since getting a harness to stop pulling, the heel is getting there J
8.  Make a handbag - Tote bags made, but a proper handbag still needs making!
9.  Put up photos
10. Go to Renegade London - For the second year in a row, lack of funds meant no visit L
11. Get new glasses!  - Done, finally
12. Brush up on my school-girl French - Started by using the vintage “teach yourself French” records found
13. Don’t beat self up when can’t do everything!
14. Take a train journey on a steam engine
15. Send a message in a bottle
16. Plant a tree
17. Learn to say no and not feel guilty!

19. Stay up all night staring stargazing - Ok, so it was by myself rather than with Hubby as planned, but made the most of it (heard an owl ALL night long)

      February – Brighton
      March – Harrogate, York
      September – much more of Suffolk

25. Paint & draw - Started carrying a little notebook & sketching as the mood takes; just need to paint now
26. Go on a course
27. Take part in a craft fair
28. Learn to crochet
29. Build a sandcastle
30. Wear a red lipstick
31. Go to a silent disco
32. Try to wear heels more
33. Leave 10 anonymous, positive messages - started leaving some at work
34. Complete diy projects round house

45. See sister-in-law at least once a month - 10 months out of 12 one we intend to try to continue
46. Hold a vintage tea-party to celebrate my Mum’s 70th birthday - Sadly not possible due to her fracturing her shoulder but still a great birthday

  1. Wow! That is some list, you've given me the inspiration to do one myself. I've been putting it off(mooching around blogland doesn't help). I do think lists are vital in ordering thoughts and its always a lovely feeling when you can tick it off!

  3. I love your list! I did one myself New Year's Eve over on my blog but I thought I'd stick to 12 as it's my first time doing one. I too want to take part in craft fairs, I think they might prove more successful than having on-line shops (certain parts of the year when the weather's nice). Your number 7 is a good idea, I have loads of digital photos that I've only looked at once on the PC. My list has certainly made me look more postively at what I want to achieve this year.
